Etsy Made Local - Hastings Team

So I have been a little bit quiet over here recently, in part due to the usual seasonal illnesses but also due to the fact that I have been busy organising my first Etsy Made Local Christmas event.

I am the Team Captain - I love this title!!! - for my local Etsy Team, which I set up in the spring of this year. Me and Alice, from Tiny Treat Boutique, decided to set up a local group as we both felt the need for an Etsy team locally in Hastings. Our town is full of creative people and lots of active and involved artists and makers and organisers.

And I am so pleased that we made the decision to do it. We have a wonderfully active team and are growing a great network of makers and designers locally. It is so nice to have support myself but also for us all, as a group to be able to support each other, especially in the very crowded and confusing world of Etsy.

We very quickly decided to apply to take part in the Etsy Made Local, which is a nationwide event sponsored by Etsy. We booked a venue in August, something I have since found out is actually quite late in the game to do! We then started spreading the word and letting everyone know about the applications being open. The response was overwhelming and we were at capacity pretty quickly. After much deliberation we now have a wonderful group of stall holders, who will all be exhibiting with us on the 2nd of December at The Stade Hall, in Hastings Old Town.

It has been a tremendous amount of work, which has included marketing, design, data handling, organising and communications but also a lot of love and care. I am so excited about this event and I have a lot of faith and confidence, in part because I have such a great Etsy team, that it is going to be really fun and successful.
